Cisco and Westcon-Comstor Team Up for AWS Marketplace Growth

Global tech provider Westcon-Comstor expands partnership with Cisco to unlock AWS Marketplace opportunities for channel partners.

Westcon-Comstor, a global technology provider and distributor, has announced an enhanced collaboration with Cisco to foster growth opportunities within AWS Marketplace for channel partners, driving the adoption of Cisco’s top-tier solutions.

The agreement empowers Westcon-Comstor, which boasts a longstanding relationship with Cisco spanning over two decades through its Comstor arm, to confidentially list Cisco’s cybersecurity, observability, and networking and collaboration-focused software products in AWS Marketplace.

Partners will now have the capability to transact and cater to end-user customers seamlessly within AWS Marketplace, facilitating faster transaction times, expanded deal sizes, increased win rates, and shortened sales cycles.

Cisco stands as one of the initial software vendors officially joining Westcon-Comstor’s AWS Marketplace programme, following the signing of the distributor’s Designated Seller of Record (DSOR) agreement with AWS.

Covering both the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region and Asia-Pacific (APAC), the agreement initially targets selected European countries, Australia, and New Zealand.

This development coincides with Comstor’s recruitment drive, aligning with Cisco’s cybersecurity growth initiatives.

David Grant, CEO at Westcon-Comstor, expressed excitement about the partnership: “We’re thrilled to announce Cisco as a launch vendor for our AWS Marketplace programme. End-users increasingly want to procure in AWS Marketplace thanks to the flexibility and pre-defined budgets it offers, and we’re committed to enabling partners to sell where their customers want to buy."

Andrew Sage, Vice President Global Distribution and SMB Sales at Cisco, echoed the sentiment: “Fresh off being announced as AWS’ Global ISV of the year, we’re accelerating our engagements with Cisco partners and distributors. We’re excited about the opportunity ahead with Comstor, and the ability for our distributors to serve more customers through the AWS marketplace.”

Recent findings by Forrester indicate that channel partners selling in AWS Marketplace can close deals up to 50% faster. Meanwhile, Canalys predicts that global sales of third-party vendor software and services through cloud marketplaces will soar to US $45 billion by 2025, marking an 84% CAGR over five years.

This collaboration between Cisco and Westcon-Comstor not only strengthens their position in the market but also underscores the growing importance of cloud marketplaces in driving partner growth and customer satisfaction.
