Keysource provides Datum due diligence

Keysource was part of the team behind Datum Datacentres’ acquisition of Teledata UK, a colocation data centre in Manchester. This represents the first bolt-on regional acquisition for Datum Datacentres as part of its regional expansion strategy.

Keysource was responsible for providing technical due diligence, a solution which forms part of its suite of consultancy services. It enables organisations to have a clear understanding of any technical risks and any investment needed to meet performance requirements, helping to inform the valuation/transaction process. A “light” version of the service is also available which is designed to identify key criteria for investors before entering into a full due diligence process.

As part of this acquisition team, Keysource was responsible for assessing a number of key areas including statutory and regulatory compliance, building structure, MEP services, economic life expectancy and operational management, as well as providing a holistic risk assessment. In addition, the team also reviewed the opportunity for developing the site to provide additional capacity and provided an Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) assessment, including assessing performance against; climate change mitigation, sustainable use and protection of water, pollution prevention and control and health and safety.

Jon Healy, Operations Director at Keysource, said: “We are excited to have been part of the team, supporting Datum’s first regional bolt-on acquisition. The project required us to move at pace to mobilise, carry out surveys and produce reports to support the transaction timetable. We also provided additional value by assessing the site for development opportunities to conceptually unlock the expansion potential of the investment, given the technical constraints, and this will subsequently be used a blueprint for ongoing site development.”

Dominic Phillips, CEO at Datum Datacentres, said: “Keysource has been a trusted partner since 2013 and their support in helping us to make informed decisions during this acquisition process has been invaluable. They left no stone unturned to ensure that every part of the data centre facility was fully reviewed and assessed, giving us peace of mind.”
