In a shift aimed at strengthening the security of the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), the private equity consortium led by ITM Communications, Bates IT, and Serbus has announced a rebranding under the singular title of Serbus. This marks a new phase in the companies' mission to address the evolving security landscape.

With plans to double its turnover, Serbus is targeting a revenue milestone of £75 million over the next 24 months. The pathway to achieving this includes a dual focus on organic growth and strategic acquisitions, a plan supported by their backers, 'buy and build' experts, Aliter Capital LLP. The move is intended to expand capabilities and extend geographic reach.

Serbus combines its operations to deliver scalable insights into the CNI sector. This entity is characterised by a growing workforce operating from three UK bases and numerous client sites, offering a suite of services. By aligning as a single entity, Serbus aims to leverage the vertical integration of ITM Communications, Bates IT's healthcare specialty, and Serbus’ own operations expertise.

The rebrand is indicative of a fusion into a “security DNA” oriented organisation. Given the rise in state-backed and industrial espionage threats targeting UK sovereignty, there's been a shift in market demands from basic connectivity towards secure-by-design infrastructure, resonating with the guidelines set by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

A key part of Serbus’ new identity is its focus on a ‘security DNA,’ informed by standards from British Special Forces, government, and National Healthcare. This is reflected in teams with high security clearance, supporting operations in complex and sensitive environments.

The Group CEO, Simon Fieldhouse, reflected, "The UK is facing an evolving and escalating threat landscape. To ensure resilience across UK critical services, organisations must protect multiple layers of operational and communications infrastructure throughout their design, installation, management, and maintenance of critical services."

By consolidating as Serbus, the brand provides services supporting the security of the UK’s critical infrastructure and assisting clients in managing protected assets.
