Searchlight Cyber, the dark web intelligence company, has launched The Dark Web Academy – a two-day, instructor-led training course to help law enforcement and security professionals identify and tackle dark web threats using the Cerberus dark web investigation platform.

Even for experienced law enforcement agents and cybersecurity professionals, the dark web remains a complex and often misunderstood part of the internet, where criminals use its hidden and anonymous nature to operate with relative impunity. By gaining a deeper understanding of how the dark web works, how to access dark web markets and forums, and how to investigate threat actors and criminals, law enforcement agents and cybersecurity professionals have a unique opportunity to disrupt criminal activity and bring cybercriminals to justice.

The Dark Web Academy’s eight-hour course requires no prior dark web experience from its participants and is delivered both virtually and in-person. The course helps Cerberus users to develop their technical dark web investigation skills and confidence through a series of hands-on exercises. Participants can learn and conduct the training using Searchlight Cyber’s dark web investigation platform, with no Tor Installation or dark web access needed to engage with the course. The Dark Web Academy is available to all Cerberus customers and channel partners.

Felipe Portero, Global Government Business Executive at Searchlight Cyber said: “Since our inception we have worked with law enforcement and cybersecurity professionals to provide them with the tools they need to combat dark web criminality. Through this experience, we identified a clear demand from investigators at all levels for a training programme that shares our expertise and best-practices in conducting dark web investigations. Our dark web intelligence solutions give investigators the technical advantage over their adversaries and now The Dark Web Academy goes even further to ensure that investigators are armed with all the knowledge and expertise they need to take action against criminal activity on the dark web.”

The Dark Web Academy also enhances Searchlight’s recently launched Partner Program, helping partners such as MSSPs and resellers to better understand and distill the unique benefits of the Cerberus tool, and use it effectively to safeguard and drive value for their customers.
