With Login PI, system administrators can monitor the end user experience without affecting productivity, provide early warnings on performance issues before they affect users, and generate reports on historical data to identify trends and determine uptime. Login PI is part of Login VSI’s workspace management product portfolio, alongside Login VSI and Login AM, which together create a comprehensive solution for managing the organisation’s entire VDI operations. Login PI gives performance insights by simulating real users and tasks. The virtual user logs in and launches common applications, recording how long it takes for the tasks to complete. The system then watches for any large discrepancies in the results and can generate alerts based on those discrepancies.
“Login PI is an early warning system for IT departments and it’s this kind of proactive management of the virtualised desktop environment that can help reduce both the number and duration of outages. Login PI is an essential resource that provides the end user’s perspective on performance, and helps IT get ahead of issues before people start calling the help desk,” said Eric-Jan Van Leeuwen, CEO of Login VSI. “We are constantly listening to customer feedback and looking for opportunities to improve our products and services. This new release of Login PI streamlines VDI operations and dramatically reduces change-related incidents at the same time.”
New key features of Login PI include:
Automated Email Alerts - All alerts and notifications are now automatically delivered to a designated email address. Customers can use this feature to have Login PI email alerts sent to their helpdesk ticketing software, which can then automatically create a trouble ticket.
Simplified Network Requirements - Login PI now requires only one network port open for all communication. It will operate in virtually any common network scenario, including hosted or DaaS environments, without having to open numerous ports in a customer’s corporate firewall.
Dashboard Preview - A new interactive dashboard displays information about the health of the VDI environment with charts updating in real-time.
Application Program Interface - Operations conducted from the management console in Login PI can now also be done programmatically by calling Login VSI’s APIs. This feature can be used to automate creating, pausing, or starting jobs from a customer’s own scripts, or querying a list of results or alerts from the Login PI database.
Improved Launcher and Job Stability - The Login PI Launcher features enhanced intelligence for tracking new jobs that have been started, cleaning up any jobs that fail or time out and checking resource availability before attempting to launch too many jobs. In addition, a new Launcher Overview tab in the management console allows administrators to approve any launchers before they will become active and download the launcher agent installer.
Mouse Click Support- Users now have the ability to click on the screen when creating custom workloads for their apps.
