UKFast leads the way with Alcumus ISOQAR early adoption

The new standard, released earlier this month, requires an organisation’s leadership to commit to the latest responsible environmental management methods and demands the adoption of a unified auditing and monitoring structure to encourage consistency across all areas of management.

UKFast’s position as one of the first organisations to go through the transition was made possible by partnering with Alcumus ISOQAR; one of just a handful of certification bodies to have taken part in the UKAS ISO 14001:2015 “Early Adopter” scheme.

Alcumus ISOQAR Director Nikki Samme was in attendance to present a certificate at UKFast’s state-of-the-art campus in Manchester this week. 

Samme said:  “The revised ISO 14001 standard demands a high degree of leadership commitment and is underpinned by risk-based thinking. UKFast’s successful transition is testament to the positive engagement of colleagues at all levels from the CEO down, and demonstrates a clear desire to embrace the standard as a fundamental element of its growth and customer focus strategies”.

By demonstrating its commitment to consistent and continuous auditing with this new best practice framework, UKFast has laid strong foundations to engage in providing G-Cloud services – cloud computing services for public sector bodies.

CEO Lawrence Jones MBE is firmly focussed on being at the forefront of the industry when it comes to both external and internal audits and monitoring.

Jones said: “Potential clients need to see that hosting firms are committed to monitoring and regulation and be assured that the people they trust with their critical data and services are managed in a stable and continuous way. We take regulation seriously and we hold ourselves to account at the same level as the regulatory bodies do.

“Almost all other hosting providers globally are still operating to the previous ISO 14001:2004 standard. We are leading the way in the industry and this move shows we are committed to improving how we audit and monitor every aspect of the business.”

UKFast is now undertaking certification to the internationally recognised Business Continuity Standard, ISO 22301.
