Providing insight into end user computing

AppSense Insight provides metrics into how end user computing estates are managed, used, secured, and adopted to drive user productivity, security effectiveness and cost reduction.

AppSense has launched AppSense Insight, a new analytics platform that provides IT with actionable intelligence about their end user client computing environment to increase user productivity, security and compliance, while managing and reducing costs.

“With AppSense Insight IT teams can understand exactly what’s happening on their endpoints using metrics such as user logon times, privileges assigned versus what was actually used, application usage, user density per server and CPU consumption. This means IT teams understand what users are experiencing, react quickly to potential issues, and take proactive steps to ensure that their key transformation and migration projects will be successful keeping costs down and users productive,” said Ravi Khatod, SVP of Marketing at AppSense. “Our focus is on helping our customers deliver a workspace that drives the highest levels of user productivity while ensuring security, compliance and operational efficiency across all Windows client computing environments, virtual, physical and DaaS. Rather than reporting low-level endpoint data, AppSense is leveraging its 15 years of UEM experience to provide accurate and actionable intelligence.”

The solution will provide actionable intelligence by gathering more data than has previously been possible from endpoints, blending it with 3rd party feeds, and combining it with deep institutional knowledge of the workspace. In many cases it replaces the need for data analysts to decipher cryptic raw data.

Insight works on any Windows PC running Windows 7 or later, as well virtual workspaces delivered via Citrix and VMware, providing a unified view of all endpoints in the environment. AppSense Insight is available on a stand-alone basis or it can be combined with DesktopNow, AppSense’s industry-leading user environment management suite, and other complementary system management tools, to enable policy-based responses to endpoint activity.

AppSense Insight will be offered through AppSense channel partners, giving them a valuable new tool to quantify their impact on IT operations and accelerate their business through richer analysis and new service opportunities.

“AppSense Insight will help us quickly identify ways to combine our expertise and AppSense’s product capabilities to help our customers measure, track and improve both user experience and IT efficiency,” said Ken Phelan, CTO at Gotham Technology Group. “Whether we’re assessing a new environment or helping an existing customer with a new workspace project, being able to base our recommendations on reliable metrics about the environment provides us with an innovative edge.”
