AlienVault Partners with T-Systems and Deutsche Telekom

AlienVault is partnering with Deutsche Telekom and T-Systems, the ICT division of Deutsche Telekom, to provide ‘German Mittelstand’ mid-market customers with the ability to detect and mitigate the impact of a breach.

Cyber Defence for SMEs utilizes AlienVault’s Unified Security Management (USM) platform, which is powered by up-to-the-minute threat intelligence from AlienVault Labs and Open Threat Exchange – the world’s largest crowd-sourced collaborative threat repository. The AlienVault USM platform is also part of a comprehensive security system known as the Next Generation Security Operations Centre, which is where Deutsche Telekom monitors activities in the SOC to analyze and deal with attacks, while also hosting platform operations at the same time.

T-Systems and Deutsche Telekom had noticed that its mid-market customers were struggling with the same issues that plague larger enterprises when it comes to identifying, prioritizing and remediating the most important security threats, but with significantly less budget to allocate to the problem. With so many disparate security issues, the challenge for T-Systems’ and Deutsche Telekoms’ mid-market customer base was deciding where to invest and ensure that management has all the information they need to identify and deal with the most important risks.

“T-Systems had already been using AlienVault’s open source project, OSSIM for a long time and were really impressed with its core features,” said Jürgen Kohr, head of T-Systems’ Cyber Security business unit. There are many solutions out there that are similar, but we found that no one vendor offered all of the security functionality in one platform like AlienVault. So, we decided to take it a step further and develop an entire solution around AlienVault’s Unified Security Management platform to offer our ‘German Mittelstand’ mid-market customers a complete, cost-effective security solution.”

The USM platform provides five essential security capabilities in a single console, giving customers everything they need to manage both compliance and threats. Within today’s dynamic and evolving threat environment, busy IT security teams don’t have the time or the resources to do threat analysis on their own. Instead, they turn to research organizations, like AlienVault Labs and crowd-sourced threat intelligence from AlienVault’s Open Threat Exchange, to do the heavy lifting for them.

“We are delighted that T-Systems and Deutsche Telekom chose AlienVault to power their new Cyber Defence for SMEs offering, having recognized that AlienVault USM best fit the security needs of their mid-market customers,” said Richard Kirk, senior vice president of AlienVault. “AlienVault USM offers the perfect package for mid-size organizations looking to bolster their security as they realize that they are becoming the mark of hackers looking for easier targets. With the new solution from Deutsche Telekom and T-Systems, mid-market customers now have the same advantages as larger organizations to quickly detect and mitigate the impact of a breach.”
