Zayo announced as Google Cloud Platform Authorized Services Partner

Google Cloud Interconnect (GCI) has been added to Zayo’s Connect to the Cloud program. Zayo is offering its customers connections to Google Cloud Platform via GCI, which provides business customers a direct connection to Google’s edge.

As a Google Cloud Platform Authorized Services Partner, Zayo will provide connectivity between its business customers and Google’s suite of cloud offerings. Google Cloud Interconnect gives customers business-grade network access to Google Cloud Platform, providing consistent, secure and reliable connectivity to better support mission critical applications.

Zayo is establishing Google Cloud Interconnects in 13 markets throughout the U.S. and Europe. Customers can use Tranzact, Zayo’s innovative shopping platform, to access these interconnects from anywhere on Zayo’s 81,000 mile fiber network. Tranzact enables customers to access pricing, place orders, and view existing and pending services through an intuitive web application.

“We look forward to offering our customers the opportunity to connect to Google Cloud Interconnectthrough our Tranzact platform,” said John Real, vice president of strategic partnerships at Zayo. “Our dense fiber-optic network and Tranzact platform complement Google’s powerful suite of cloud solutions, providing our customers with a truly optimized cloud experience.”

Zayo’s fiber-optic network extends more than 81,000 route miles across the United States and Europe, and connects to more than 15,000 on-net buildings, providing connectivity to the majority of data centers and carrier hotels in the U.S. Zayo is currently able to offer IP connectivity to GCI, and anticipates offering expanded connectivity options to GCI in the first quarter of 2015.
