Xfernet, the Los Angeles-based hosting and managed services provider, has launched a new range of ActiveGrid cloud hosting services on the OnApp cloud platform. Using OnApp, Xfernet now offers a complete portfolio of public, private and hybrid cloud hosting services for small business and enterprise customers, hosted in its own 10,000-sq ft. state-of-the-art data center in downtown Los Angeles.
OnApp’s comprehensive cloud management feature set and very rapid deployment time enables Xfernet to deliver complete, bespoke cloud services in just a few days. Its ActiveGrid cloud features very rapid deployment, a multi-layer security model, integrated autoscaling, load balancing and auto-healing, a huge library of OS and application templates, and a dedicated 1000Mbps uplink for every server. Xfernet also uses OnApp Storage, the distributed SAN included with the OnApp platform, to deliver fully mirrored high-performance storage to its customers.
"We have a very clear mission at Xfernet,” said Xfernet CTO, Aaron Faby. “We don't sell vanilla VPS: instead, we create the right hosting service for the applications and workloads you need to run, we manage and secure them, and we needed a cloud platform that would help us keep that promise to our clients. OnApp gives us the flexibility to create the right cloud service for each customer. It's quick to deploy, it supports a wide range of public, private and hybrid deployments, and its storage platform provides the resilience and performance a business needs when running its key apps in the cloud."
“It’s great to be working with the Xfernet team,” said Kosten Metreweli, OnApp’s Chief Commercial Officer. “The OnApp platform is designed to help providers launch new services and grow their business as quickly and easily as possible, while providing many different ways to differentiate with innovative cloud and dedicated hosting services. Xfernet is moving forward at full force with a diverse range of cloud services built on OnApp.”
Xfernet plans to roll out additional services based on OnApp in the near future, including a new range of dedicated hosting services, using OnApp’s ability to automate bare metal servers and hybrid smart servers for applications that require exclusive use of hardware. The company also plans to expand its datacenter footprint with a new facility on the U.S. East coast. Xfernet switched to OnApp from AppLogic to ensure it could continue delivering a wide range of innovative, fully supported cloud services for its clients.
