Tikit announces new partnership with Databarracks

Providing backup and disaster recovery services to the legal sector.

Tikit has joined forces with cloud backup and disaster recovery provider Databarracks to provide secure recovery services to law and other professional service firms. Peter Groucutt, Managing Director at Databarracks, commented on the venture:

“We’re very excited to announce our partnership with Tikit. For knowledge workers in legal and professional services, uptime of IT systems is vital to be productive and profitable. Cloud backup and disaster recovery services enable improved regulatory compliance and rapid recovery of IT systems at a significantly lower cost than in the past. As leading suppliers to the industry this partnership will enable more firms to realise those benefits.

“The time is right for law firms to adopt these cloud services. In August last year we produced a report with legal cloud expert Frank Jennings, Chair of the Cloud Industry Forum Code of Governance Board, that highlighted the key challenges and benefits to law firms embracing cloud computing. The report identified the interest in cloud computing but highlighted concerns around compliance and security.”

Darren Saunders, Managed Services Account Manager, at Tikit, who has been supplying technology solutions to law firms for 20 years, isn’t surprised by this on-going shift: “Cloud computing isn’t a new concept to the legal sector and, as highlighted in the research, firms are considering the various options available. The benefits of cloud computing for backup and disaster recovery are now widely recognised. For most firms, the idea of recovery from tape backups, taking days to complete, is just no longer acceptable. Cloud backup and DR give firms the confidence that, should they be affected by a disaster like fire, flooding or IT hardware failure, their operations will continue with minimal disruption.
“Our customers typically work with very high-value assets and in high-pressured environments, where any form of data loss or downtime could prove catastrophic. Working with a leading provider like Databarracks to provide our clients with a service that is resilient and responsive enough to deal with any type of disaster gives them the peace of mind they need to make that first move into the cloud.”
