Vision Solutions enables ‘easy’ data migration from Amazon AWS to Microsoft Azure

Double-Take Move provides migration and replication for workloads between public cloud platforms.

Vision Solutions, Inc. says that its Double-Take Move product can support migrations for workloads based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) across to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. This allows organisations that have virtual machine instances on AWS to move them over to Azure with near-zero downtime.

The enhanced Double-Take Move provides migration between cloud, virtual and physical platforms through the use of real-time replication. Vision Solutions’ approach allows any number of existing machines to be migrated while users remain connected to them. This means that migrations can be carried out around the normal business day, rather than leading to costly downtime and/or migrations taking place outside work hours.

“Double-Take Move provides simple and effective migrations, irrespective of the original platform. For organisations using Amazon AWS for test and development or to trial new application instances, Double-Take Move offers a way to transition those instances back into an existing internal cloud or across to Microsoft Azure. Whether companies are looking at full public, private or hybrid clouds, migration is an essential and ongoing requirement,” commented Ian Masters, Regional Director Northern Europe, Vision Solutions.

The Double-Take product family from Vision Solutions is based on real-time data replication. Alongside cloud migration, Double-Take products also provide support for high availability, business continuity and disaster recovery implementations. Key features include:
· Agentless and Agent-based virtualisation protection solutions allow companies to customise their High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions to meet their specific Recovery Point Objective (RPO) requirements.
· Asynchronous byte level replication of data in real-time –allows replication to be carried out over any distance, providing strong RPO support for critical applications
· Write-order replication consistency –ensures the integrity of all data, which means organisations will be able to use their data and applications in the event of a failover or migration cutover is carried out
· Ability to manage entire production environments from a single console across availability and continuity requirements
