Submer, a provider of AI infrastructure solutions, has announced a partnership with UK distributor Hammer Distribution. This initiative is part of Submer’s broader expansion strategy, aligning with the UK Government’s objectives for sustainable and sovereign digital infrastructure.
Specialising in end-to-end AI infrastructure services, Submer offers liquid cooling solutions, monitoring software, data centre design and build, and GPU cloud services. This integrated approach provides UK organisations with a single accountable partner for AI deployment and scaling.
Through the partnership with Hammer, Submer aims to increase accessibility to its liquid cooling products across the UK and Europe. The collaboration also includes design, deployment, and lifecycle support services, enabling enterprise IT partners to implement high-density environments efficiently.
UK data centres, now classified as Critical National Infrastructure, are expected to nearly double in capacity by 2028. This growth reflects rising demand for high-density, energy-efficient computing, particularly in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, and education. Investment in the UK datacentre market has already exceeded £40 billion, attracting both domestic and international attention.
Adam Blackwell of Hammer noted that traditional air cooling is increasingly insufficient for AI workloads. The partnership with Submer, integrated into Hammer’s AI WORKS programme, is intended to provide scalable and sustainable infrastructure solutions that support UK data sovereignty. These solutions help data centres improve energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and meet sustainability objectives, including zero direct water consumption.
As AI adoption accelerates, Submer’s initiatives aim to strengthen AI infrastructure capabilities in the UK. This includes expanding the local team with technical and commercial roles to support customer engagement and deliver on the evolving requirements of AI deployment.
