Tata Group and OpenAI announce multi-year AI partnership

Tata Group and OpenAI agree partnership spanning AI innovation, infrastructure and workforce development.

The Tata Group and OpenAI have announced a partnership focused on advancing AI-driven innovation across enterprise, consumer and social sectors.

The collaboration will concentrate on several key areas:

  • Empowering Tata Group employees: Thousands of employees will gain access to Enterprise ChatGPT to support productivity. In addition, TCS will use OpenAI’s Codex to enhance software engineering outcomes.
  • Developing industry-specific solutions: The partnership will combine OpenAI’s Agentic AI capabilities with TCS’s industry knowledge to develop solutions tailored to different sectors.
  • Joint go-to-market initiatives: TCS and OpenAI will work together to support enterprises globally in adopting AI-enabled solutions aligned with their operational requirements.
  • AI infrastructure development: In collaboration with OpenAI, TCS plans to develop AI infrastructure in India, starting with an initial 100MW capacity and the potential to scale to 1GW. This forms part of broader efforts to expand AI infrastructure in the country.
Social impact: The OpenAI Foundation and TCS will provide AI training and resources for young people in India. The initiatives aim to improve the livelihoods of one million individuals by promoting responsible and effective use of AI.
