OVHcloud bolsters German presence with new Berlin 3-AZ region

OVHcloud expands its footprint in Germany, launching its third European 3-AZ cloud region in Berlin, solidifying its commitment to security and resilience.

OVHcloud, the forefront of European cloud innovation, has announced a significant expansion into Germany, deploying a new 3-AZ region in Berlin. As the third of its kind in Europe, following deploys in France and Italy, the Berlin 3-AZ region marks a critical milestone for OVHcloud, reinforcing its strategic presence across the continent.

The Berlin expansion encapsulates OVHcloud's dedication to advancing the European digital infrastructure by promising enhanced security, resilience, and high availability. This commitment underscores the cloud leader's vision of supporting economies far and wide, irrespective of industry or size.

Founder and CEO of OVHcloud, Octave Klaba, articulated this ambition, emphasising the pivotal role Berlin's new 3-AZ region will play in ramping up the security framework of European digital assets. He expressed that enhancing collective digital sovereignty hinges not on isolated initiatives but on systemic efforts by internationally capable players.

The newly introduced 3-AZ model has been meticulously designed to meet the demands of critical applications requiring utmost resilience and availability. Consisting of three independent Availability Zones, each zone is situated mere kilometres apart, equipped with dedicated power and network connections. This model guarantees ultra-low latency, security, and service continuity, pivotal in sectors like finance, healthcare, and public services, especially in the context of disaster recovery plans.

OVHcloud’s expansion in Berlin also highlights its continuing partnership with prominent German public and private sectors. Existing collaborations with institutions such as Commerz Real, ITSC, and Bundesagentur für Arbeit are further consolidated with this infrastructural leap.

Looking ahead, OVHcloud remains keen on extending its highly redundant 3-AZ infrastructure network across Europe, with future plans to initiate additional regions in various European cities, optimising both capacity and technological advancement.
