OVHcloud launches Europe's first Quantum-as-a-Service platform

OVHcloud unveils its groundbreaking Quantum Platform, providing access to advanced quantum technology across Europe.

In a significant move in the technological landscape, OVHcloud, a leading name in the European cloud industry, spearheads the quantum revolution with its latest launch - the Quantum Platform. This milestone marks the arrival of the first European Quantum-as-a-Service solution (QaaS), promising unparalleled access to cutting-edge quantum computing resources.

The platform is designed to cater to both businesses and public organisations, offering access to at least eight state-of-the-art quantum computers, including the Pasqal Orion Beta Quantum Processing Unit (QPU). Such technology is now within reach, paving the way for organisations to tackle intricate technological challenges head-on.

This launch aligns seamlessly with OVHcloud's strategic commitment to establishing a robust European quantum ecosystem. It follows its pioneering efforts in 2022, when the Group introduced its first quantum emulator. Fast forward, OVHcloud boasts an impressive suite of nine quantum emulators, establishing itself as a trailblazer with the widest range of quantum emulators in Europe, serving nearly a thousand users to date.

The Quantum Platform not only integrates emulators but also extends to accommodate real quantum computers, rendering it a versatile and comprehensive solution. Additionally, OVHcloud plans to expand its offerings further, aspiring to integrate eight more Quantum Processing Units by 2027, with an emphasis on incorporating European suppliers.

Loïc Henriet of Pasqal underscores the significance of these developments, highlighting the stride towards European digital sovereignty. The close collaboration between the two companies is a testament to their dedication to fostering a trusted, independent, and competitive quantum ecosystem within Europe.

As organisations increasingly recognise the value of quantum technologies, OVHcloud's Quantum Platform emerges as a pivotal tool in facilitating innovation. By providing an ecosystem where users can iteratively test and learn, it ensures that the quantum capabilities are harnessed effectively. Through strategic partnerships and pioneering initiatives, OVHcloud positions itself as a vanguard in the quantum realm, setting the stage for future technological advancements in Europe and beyond.
