Accelsius, a pioneering entity in the realm of two-phase, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, has unveiled its latest innovation - the NeuCool® MR250. This cutting-edge Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) is tailored for the most demanding workloads within AI and high-performance computing (HPC) data centres. Attendees of the Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit in San Jose from the 13th to the 16th of October will witness the public launch of this groundbreaking technology.

Crafted for scalability and efficiency, the MR250 boasts a robust 250 kW liquid cooling capacity per rack, available in versatile configurations of 1 x 250 kW or 2 x 125 kW per rack. This debut marks the inception of a series of increasingly powerful NeuCool solutions, with even more formidable systems anticipated for release in 2026.

According to Josh Claman, Accelsius' CEO, "The MR250 signals a new chapter for liquid cooling. Two-phase, direct-to-chip solutions are no longer just proofs of concept. They are ready for the scale and reliability that modern data centres demand." This ensures operators can deploy the technology with assurance, reducing risks, maintenance, and costs across their facilities.

Utilising refrigerant-based cooling on a broad scale, the MR250 minimises the persistent need for water treatment and monitoring customary with single-phase systems. This technological leap significantly mitigates potential leak risks, simplifies operations, and offers heightened reliability for mission-critical environments.

Additional MR250 Advantages:

  • Higher Energy Efficiency: Supports facility water temperatures up to 45°C, paving the way for more free-cooling days and a noticeable reduction in energy consumption.
  • Sustainability Options: The system's compatibility with R1233zd(E) or R-515B refrigerants allows data centres to align with environmental objectives or optimise performance requirements.
  • Scalable Production: Manufactured at Accelsius' newly expanded Austin facility, which boasts a 500% increase in production capacity, and fortified by additional contract manufacturing for higher-volume orders.

The initial deployments of the MR250 have discreetly commenced towards late Q3 with a broader rollout predicted throughout Q4 and into 2026, marking a transformative period for advanced cooling technology in data centres.
