Cloudera unveils private AI solutions for on-premise data centers

Cloudera's latest release brings private AI capabilities on-site, enhancing security and accelerating AI adoption for enterprises.

Cloudera has announced the latest edition of its Data Services, introducing Private AI functionalities directly into on-premise data centres. This development enables companies to leverage secure, GPU-accelerated generative AI capabilities while maintaining stringent security behind their firewall.

The innovation comes at a time when security concerns significantly hinder AI adoption. Data from Accenture reveals that 77% of organisations lack the necessary security practices to protect their critical models and infrastructure. Cloudera tackles these challenges head-on, facilitating a swift transition from prototype to production.

The release highlights Cloudera's ability to bring cloud-native services both on-prem and into the public cloud, ensuring streamlined data lifecycles and reduced infrastructure expenditures. Organisations can now deploy workloads rapidly, automate complex tasks, and enhance data team efficacy, all while maintaining security standards.

Incorporated in this release are the Cloudera AI Inference Service and AI Studios, now available for data centres. Previously restricted to cloud platforms, these tools are pivotal in overcoming AI adoption barriers. They have been designed to empower organisations to securely manage GenAI applications within their own infrastructure.

  • Cloudera AI Inference Service: Enhanced by NVIDIA technologies, it provides embedded microservice functionalities to streamline large-scale AI model management within secure premises.
  • Cloudera AI Studios: Utilises low-code templates to facilitate the construction and deployment of GenAI applications, democratising the AI software lifecycle.

A Forrester Consulting study reports significant improvements for enterprises adopting Cloudera's on-premise solutions, including an 80% faster workload deployment, a 20% boost in productivity for data practitioners and platform teams, and substantial cost savings from the modern architectural framework.

“Historically, enterprises have been forced to cobble together complex, fragile DIY solutions to run their AI on-premises,” said Sanjeev Mohan, industry analyst. “Today the urgency to adopt AI is undeniable, but so are the concerns around data security. What enterprises need are solutions that streamline AI adoption, boost productivity, and do so without compromising on security.”

“Cloudera Data Services On-Premises delivers a true cloud-native experience on-premises, providing agility and efficiency without sacrificing security or control,” said Leo Brunnick, Cloudera’s Chief Product Officer. “This release is a significant step forward in data modernisation, moving from monolithic clusters to a suite of agile, containerised applications.”:

The release is hailed as a step forward in data modernisation, shifting from monolithic clusters to agile, containerised applications, offering a cloud-native experience without sacrificing control.
