As the EAA takes effect, MSPs have a golden opportunity to enhance digital accessibility and expand service offerings.

With the European Accessibility Act (EAA) now in full effect, Source Code Control is stepping up to partner with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), encouraging them to champion inclusive digital experiences. The failure to comply doesn't just risk monetary fines but also jeopardizes customer trust and potential market access within the European Union.

According to Source Code Control's Accessibility Audit in the UK, a startling 50% of businesses do not meet digital accessibility standards, spotlighting a major gap in awareness. The audit assessed various digital assets for accessibility needs associated with epilepsy, visual impairment, dyslexia, ADHD, and colour blindness. This shortfall presents a unique opportunity for UK MSPs to offer comprehensive support and position themselves as leaders in this crucial realm.

To aid MSPs in this pursuit, Source Code Control has developed an Accessibility Assessment Toolkit, allowing MSPs to efficiently evaluate digital infrastructures such as websites and other user interfaces.

Paul McAdam, Director at Source Code Control, stresses the importance of this initiative: "Despite the equivalent UK accessibility legislation being enforced in 2018, many businesses still don’t realise that 1 in 20 UK users aren’t able to access their websites and apps properly." This gap could result in a 5% loss of traffic and conversions in the UK alone, significant especially when considering the larger European demographic.

As of June 28, 2025, the EAA's requirements are fully enforceable across the EU, demanding all digital services adhere to the WCAG 2.1 AA technical standard. This means any digital asset—be it a service offering, blog, or employment advert—must be perceivable and navigable to those with disabilities. Matching these standards ensures that businesses remain relevant and accessible to a broader audience.

Source Code Control emphasizes that accessibility extends beyond mere visual elements. It encompasses cognitive ease, effective navigation, appropriate animation techniques, and high-contrast layouts. Paul McAdam concludes that businesses often deviate from compliance over time with website evolution, highlighting a key area where MSPs can assume the role of Accessibility Partners.

Offering a white-labelled partnership, Source Code Control empowers MSPs to augment their service offerings with expert accessibility solutions, bypassing the need to develop in-house expertise.
