The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has announced a strategic partnership with global Network as a Service provider, Megaport, aimed at enhancing cloud connectivity options for its members. This collaboration seeks to broaden the LINX Cloud Connect service, enabling effortless access to multiple cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, and others.

Through partnering with Megaport, members in London can leverage an extensive global infrastructure, simplifying their connection to leading cloud services directly from an existing multi-service port. With this collaboration, members benefit from a streamlined workflow—enjoying a single invoice, one port, and a sole contact point for engineering support.

LINX has a long-standing reputation, spanning over 30 years, for providing low latency peering solutions to over 850 global networks. The organization has witnessed rising demand for additional solutions and remains an advocate for collaborations that augment service offerings.

Tyrone Turner, Product Manager at LINX said “Our community now have even more choice and control when it comes to low latency peering and cloud connectivity, all through a single interface.”

Turning to Megaport’s perspective, the partnership offers LINX members a rapid and simplified gateway to cloud solutions. By combining Megaport’s global infrastructure with LINX’s interconnection services, the cooperation aims to reduce complexity and bolster access to essential services as needed.

“This partnership gives LINX members a faster, simpler path to cloud,” said Megaport's VP of Sales, EMEA Emmanuel Savray. “By combining Megaport’s global infrastructure and broad cloud ecosystem with LINX’s interconnection services, UK networks can connect to leading cloud providers with less complexity, accessing the services they need, when and where they need them.”

The LINX Cloud Connect is crafted to ease the transition into cloud systems, providing secure, performant, and scalable connections. With Megaport's integration, the platform offers members increased flexibility, allowing the construction of hybrid and multi-cloud environments effortlessly.
