Vantage Data Centers enters Nevada with $3 billion campus investment

Vantage Data Centers marks a new milestone with its entry into Nevada, further bolstering Storey County's position as a digital infrastructure hub.

Vantage Data Centers has made a significant stride into the Nevada market with the announcement of its expansive 224MW campus, dubbed NV1, located in Storey County near Reno. This marks a major investment of nearly $3 billion, generating over 1,200 jobs during construction and operational phases, further strengthening the local economy.

This venture underlines Vantage's strategic expansion beyond Tier I locations, aligning with tech giants like Google, Apple, and Microsoft that have established their presence in this rapidly growing region.

Set on 137 acres, NV1 will feature four towering multi-story data centers, offering over one million square feet of space. With the first two buildings already under lease agreements, the first is anticipated to open in the second quarter of 2026.

Designed with artificial intelligence in mind, NV1 will accommodate densities from 360W to over 720W per square foot. Its advanced design supports both traditional air-cooled and next generation liquid cooling systems, maintaining flexibility for various GPU loads.

The campus boasts N+1 electrical redundancy and N+2 mechanical redundancy, ensuring remarkable reliability. Furthermore, it adheres to Vantage's "sustainable by design" philosophy, aiming for a minimal water usage effectiveness (WUE) via a closed-loop chiller system, minimizing water use. The campus is on track to achieve LEED certification.

In the words of Vantage's North American President Dana Adams, "As the global race for AI dominance continues, Vantage is leading the delivery of digital infrastructure to support the innovation and applications of the world’s largest technology enterprises"

Vantage's entry has been welcomed warmly, exemplified by Austin Osborne, the Storey County manager, acknowledging its contribution to the region's growth in digital infrastructure and economic development.

Dedicated to being an engaged community partner, Vantage has teamed with the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) to foster local workforce development and community initiatives. The establishment of NV1 not only marks Vantage's commitment to digital innovation but also solidifies Storey County's emerging position as a pivotal hub for future-ready industries.
