Panduit wins prestigious Data Centre Solutions Technology Award

For the second consecutive year, Panduit was named a winner at the prestigious DCS Awards, held in London on 22 May 2025.

This year, the award went to the Panduit G6 Power Distribution Unit, a leading PDU developed for data centre environments. Panduit is a global leader in innovative electrical and network infrastructure solutions, and the G6 PDU Series underlines the best-in-class, low profile form factor and enhanced onboard intelligence required in the latest iterations of data centre compute cabinets.

Michael Akinla, Business Manager Central Europe North, Panduit EMEA, commenting on the award, stated, “Gaining industry recognition, such as this excellent DCS Award, for the quality and innovation Panduit products offer our networking and data centre customers is gratifying. It is a strong response to the R&D teams along with the direct installer and customer feedback we gain in the continuous development of the product families.”

The Panduit G6 PDU, is intended to be discrete in the cabinet, and its low profile design saves rack space providing increased airflow to assist live equipment cooling. Today’s data centre environments are driving towards faster performance and increased power utilization, together with environmental, security functions and cybersecurity capabilities, and the Panduit G6 PDU offers best in class outlet density to offer the power platform to match the increased density of rack IT equipment.

Offering extensive daisy-chain capabilities allows up to 32 PDUs and 32 sensors on a single IP address and network switch. The premium hydraulic-magnetic circuit breakers ensure stable trip characteristics at extreme temperatures at full load. This capability is supported by real-time monitoring of power, environmental and physical access security, through a user selectable range of digital sensors which continuously scan for anomalies. In line with current sustainability requirements the G6 PDU provides accurate, billing-grade metering capabilities, and a range of PDU level power metering with user defined alarm thresholds and notifications and is compatible with a wide range of BYOD (bring your own device) Web GUI access offering device detection to auto adjust the users screen for optimal experience.
