Speeding up development times in software testing

BlinqIO announces the release of its first-ever AI test recorder which provides Playwright projects that aim to speed up software development cycles, and decrease the level of arduous tasks for software testers globally.

Test engineer developer BlinqIO has launched its first-ever AI test recorder. This latest feature will take the product's existing capabilities to new heights by speeding up development cycles, dramatically reducing time-to-market and improving accuracy, all while decreasing the level of admin tasks for software testers globally. Based in the US, the innovative company recently completed a 3.7 million pound funding round. BlinqIO is unique in that it provides AI test engineers with similar capabilities to humans, meaning it can receive high-level test requirements and instantly convert them into test automation code.

BlinqIO’s new AI Test Recorder is designed to perform equivalent work to that of a human test automation engineer - receiving a test requirement and delivering a test suite, in Playwright code. Playwright Codegen is a powerful tool that simplifies the process of test automation. It enables users to effortlessly generate code by recording their interactions with a website, no manual coding required.

This new feature will help BlinqIO in its mission to help solve a severe shortage in test engineers. With most software testing cycles taking between 3-6 weeks, companies are turning to AI to speed up processes and complement existing teams. Recent reports reveal that 54% of developers are turning to DevOps for faster development cycles. According to RWS solutions, automation testing is estimated to be worth 51 billion pounds by 2025.

Founded in 2023 and with a growing headcount of over 25 employees, BlinqIO’s AI Test Recorder aims to revolutionize automated software testing. It will achieve this by creating code in open source playwright, enabling users to create scenarios and business logic level situations, without any code writing required. It will also enable autonomous maintenance of test suites.

The AI test recorder complements BlinqIO’s existing AI test engineer which understands requirements, makes decisions, creates test automation code (playwright), and maintains it autonomously against UI changes. It is the latest development in the company's mission to become the leading provider of next generation AI testing solutions for the software market.

Speaking about the launch of the first-ever AI test recorder BlinqIO Co-founder and CEO Tal Barmeir said: “We believe that our new AI test recorder will transform software testing globally. Our AI test recorder enables non-technical testers to carry out test scenarios without writing any code and receive the full-blown Playwright code project in return. This democratizes the process of test automation, enabling teams to implement automation faster and more effectively. It also enables companies to decrease time-to-market. Through BlinqIO’s unique capabilities, we hope more organizations will embrace the power of AI and innovation within the software testing ecosystem.”
