AtlasEdge completes acquisition of Datacenter One

AtlasEdge has completed its acquisition of Datacenter One, becoming Germany’s leading distributed platform, with a clear pipeline to expand further.

The acquisition, which includes 140+ customers, four state-of-the-art data centres in Stuttgart (x2), Dusseldorf and Leverkusen, as well as additional locations under construction, complements AtlasEdge’s existing sites in Hamburg and Berlin and significantly increases its ability to service customers across five regional German markets.

DC1’s industry-leading senior management team remains unchanged following the transaction and will continue to run the business at a local level. Wolfgang Kaufmann, CEO, DC1, will report into Giuliano Di Vitantonio, CEO, AtlasEdge.

“The acquisition of DC1 is another significant moment in our journey to build Europe’s leading Edge platform”, commented Giuliano Di Vitantonio. “Germany is Europe’s largest economy and a key strategic market characterised by robust demand for infrastructure closer to the end user. The deep local knowledge and expertise offered by Wolfgang and his team will prove invaluable as we consolidate our presence in the country and continue our customer-led expansion.”

“Becoming part of the AtlasEdge family is a fantastic moment for DC1, our customers, and a huge boost to our ambitious growth plans for Germany”, said Wolfgang Kaufmann, CEO, DC1. “The natural combination of shared expertise, investment, and ambition that this deal represents is significant, and I look forward to everything that we can achieve for our customers together.”
