Agilitas IT Solutions has unveiled the Agilitas eVentory Charter to mark the latest step in its ongoing commitment to providing sustainable inventory management services across the IT Channel.
The announcement coincides with the launch of Agilitas’ Sustainability Pledge that sees the company commit to ‘Act with Impact’, to create a circular economy that supports a more sustainable and healthy future. This pledge is built around three core pillars - Planet, People and Partners - that drives the company to place the planet at its heart, build a sustainable culture and support partners with solutions and services that reduce environmental impact.
The Agilitas e-Ventory Charter was formed as part of Agilitas’ commitment to delivering sustainable inventory management. The Charter outlines the elements of the company’s services, operational and internal initiatives that contribute to this mission and support a circular economy.
This includes its ‘Recycle, Rework, Reuse’ model whereby in 60% of cases, Agilitas is able to repair a faulty part to OEM standards and place it back on the shelf to reuse. The Charter also features its core Inventory-as-a-Service proposition, which provides a best practice methodology where vendors can confidently access a robust EOL supply chain that follows the strictest governance and inventory management policies.
Within the Charter, Agilitas outlines its commitment to reducing its own carbon footprint through efforts such as automating some roles, using electric vans to transport inventory between its logistics hubs and minimising staff travel through a remote working for all policy.
Agilitas has also announced a range of internal initiatives to meet its objectives, including the appointment of Deborah Johnson, Compliance Manager as the company’s Head of Sustainability. The Agilitas Channel Confidence Index also measures the progression of sustainability across the IT Channel to provide actionable market insights that support a greener channel ecosystem. This year, it found that sustainability is high on the agenda over the next 12 months, with decision-makers ranking it 7.8 out of a possible 10.
Shaun Lynn, CEO of Agilitas, commented: “At Agilitas, we are fully committed to supporting the channel with solutions that Recycle, Rework, Reuse to extend the lifecycle of IT products and exceed targets for a more sustainable future. Our vision is simple. To act with impact and build a more sustainable and healthy future for our planet, people and partners, working towards the UK’s crucial ambitions for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The e-Ventory Charter is part of Agilitas’ wider sustainability pledge. The pledge commits to numerous environmental initiatives including the planting of 100,000 trees over the next five years as the business looks to deliver a climate positive workforce within the next 10 years and a carbon neutral operation by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Government’s 2050 target.
Lynn goes on to say “Sustainability is in the DNA of our Inventory-as-a-Service model, which is an essential part of our work to help create a circular economy that is better for the environment and our customers. Our objective is to minimise waste is at the heart of the Agilitas culture and we are determined to take action to create a greener Channel ecosystem for our planet, people and partners.”
