Asperitas appoints Andy Young as Chief Technology Officer

Immersion cooling specialist Asperitas is cementing their strong place within the immersion cooling market following prosperous results over the last year. The anticipated expansion within the technical department has seen Andy Young now promoted to Chief Technology Officer.

Given Andy’s previous appointment to the management team as Director of Research and Development and his expertise from former positions at Ansys and Iceotope, this broader technical and engineering role will be a further asset to the team, assisting the company towards further success. Andy’s exceptional work within the management team coupled with his in-depth knowledge of immersion technology has been integral to the exponential growth in customer engagements, fuelling further company expansion in the coming months.

Speaking of his promotion, Andy commented: “I am thrilled to have this opportunity to lead the engineering team at Asperitas, working at a more strategic level within the company. We are growing from strength to strength through delivering high performance solutions whilst addressing the challenges faced with performance, carbon emissions and water-use reduction. I am proud to head up a team that provides such highly experienced service and support for our customers."

In the last 12 months, Asperitas has expanded the team with a few more highly skilled individuals, filling positions in engineering, commercial, technical as well as management roles. This has complemented the significant customer successes of 2020 such as the deal wins for French bank Crédit Agricole and the Shell High Performance Computing cluster in their Amsterdam datacentre. This sets the bar high for scale-up plans for 2021. With company positions such as the role of Solutions Architect already posted, Asperitas is set to have substantial growth within the company over the coming year.

Rolf Brink, Asperitas Founder and CEO commented: “I am excited to be sharing the scale-up news, which has been a product of lots of diligent, hard work. The Asperitas vision is that in order to make the datacentre industry sustainable, integration within the global energy transition is vital, and our recent successes have brought us that bit closer to achieving an energy neutral datacentre industry. Overall, sustainability is central to everything we do, and we will not lose sight of our commitment.”
