Stratus Technologies, a global leader in simplified, protected and autonomous Edge Computing solutions, has entered into partnership with Wonderware France – a brand of the FACTORY SYSTEMES group and a major player in the field of distribution of hardware, industrial computing software & M2M. The alliance will simplify management and ensure the continued availability of critical industrial applications located at the edge of networks.

Stratus Technologies’ platforms include: ztC™Edge – a rugged, secure, highly-automated industrial computing system that protects and delivers business-critical applications quickly, reliably and efficiently in distributed, under-resourced locations and; ftServer® – a continuously available failure-prevention system, that has been supporting Wonderware customers at the edge for a number of years.

“Our software provides supervision and management of critical industrial processes requiring a very high level of availability. The Stratus offering, combined with Wonderware software installed on-site, allows our customers to focus on their business without worrying about the reliability of their industrial computing facilities”. Said, Grégory Guihéneuf, Marketing and Strategy Director at Wonderware France.

As industrial technologies become more powerful and more devices are connected to the existing infrastructure, more processing power is needed at the edge of the network. Analysts estimate that by 2020, there will be more than 5.6 billion IoT devices owned and operated in enterprise environments. With these devices being deployed away from the traditional data centre, some running business-critical applications, real-time data capture and analysis is needed. It is this need that is the driving force of Edge Computing, further blurring the lines between the IT and OT professional. In fact, Edge Computing is allowing OT professionals the same capabilities to monitor, asses and act on data that previously would have only been available to IT professionals.

To help customers better meet these challenges, Wonderware France has strengthened its IIoT and Edge Computing offerings with Stratus Technologies’ industry-leading IT solutions. Together they deliver unparalleled reliability for companies around the world in: financial; retail; transportation; water and wastewater; oil and gas; food and beverage, and manufacturing sectors.

Richard Sharod, Vice President EMEA, Stratus Technologies said: “We are delighted that Wonderware France has selected Stratus as its partner of choice for Edge Computing.  For decades, we’ve protected customers from significant operational, financial and reputational risk by securely and reliably delivering information to applications in the cloud, the data centre and at the Edge.  With Wonderware France, we will provide solutions to modernise and automate industrial environments at the Edge, and make the journey towards digitalisation seamless for our customers.“
