Multinational law firm Simmons & Simmons, has chosen Riverbed SteelCentral™ Aternity to enhance the employee experience across the company’s applications, devices, and network, and help increase the productivity of the firm’s lawyers so they can focus on delivering great client service. SteelCentral Aternity monitors the end-user experience of any business-critical application delivering an immediate view into application and device health, for every employee within Simmons & Simmons, whether on mobile, virtual, or physical devices.

The global law firm wanted to create an agile and collaborative working environment, with the scale and flexibility to support 2,000 employees in more than 22 key financial centers across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Simmons & Simmons’ international nature and its cloud-first approach required a stable platform for all end-users. In addition, the company needed full visibility into application and digital performance across their network to identify issues and streamline experience. “We wanted to know about the experience of our employees on the other side of the world, not just those sitting near the IT team.  And when we’re providing our lawyers with a great experience, they can deliver an exceptional experience to our clients,” said Ross Jeremy, Modern Workplace Team Lead, at Simmons & Simmons.

As Simmons & Simmons’ were already a Riverbed customer using Riverbed® SteelHead™, a leading Application Acceleration solution, the law firm decided to choose and deploy SteelCentral Aternity to benchmark performance, speed-up trouble-shooting and deliver a single view of all the data across the global business. Orange Business Services, a long-standing partner, worked collaboratively with Riverbed and Simmons & Simmons to manage the smooth roll-out of the SteelCentral Aternity solution.

“With SteelCentral we‘re able to monitor the heartbeat of the business and manage the user’s digital experience; it allows my team to be proactive and if there’s an issue, we’re ahead of it,” continued Ross Jeremy. “Critically, it gathers information and presents it in a simple format, providing visibility into the impact of change and giving us the data to back this up.”

SteelCentral presents employee feedback on application performance, bolstering Simmons & Simmons’ support teams, and enabling them to easily monitor change management and better inform future IT investment. “We are thrilled to have been able to help Simmons & Simmons achieve their goal of optimizing the end-user experience and improving collaboration across the workforce,” said Paul Higley, Regional Vice President, Northern Europe at Riverbed Technology. “We understand the importance of having the analytics and full visibility across networks, apps and devices, and look forward to seeing how Riverbed and SteelCentral will continue to deliver value for the company.”

Going forward, Simmons & Simmons is focused on creating road maps for monitoring mobile users, further enhancing visibility and user experience and driving productivity across the business.
