DCIM foundation for smart datacenter

DATA4, the European specialist in the design, construction and operation of ultra-secure data centres, has launched the new D4 SMART DATACENTRE platform, based on DCIM 2.0 software from Nlyte.

D4 SMART DATACENTER offers DATA4 customers complete, real-time visibility into the operation of their infrastructure and the IT resources hosted in DATA4's data centres. The D4 SMART DATACENTER enables simplified proactive management for customers, granting the agility to align IT resources with their business objectives. They can make informed decisions to manage and act with agility to improve performance.

 

Customers will benefit from:

·       Risk reduction: End-to-end visibility into infrastructure operation, improving response times and maximising platform availability

·       Increased performance: Identifying underused areas and optimising performance by adapting resources business requirements based on the real-time visualisation of existing IT resources

·       Optimising Infrastructure Management: Accurately plan IT infrastructure by optimising utilisation of arrays, space, power, air conditioning, and network connectivity based on operational need

·       Corporate Social Responsibility: Instantly see all KPIs describing the impact of resources and check environmental sustainability

 

D4 SMART DATACENTER operation is based on four steps:

·       Datacentre infrastructure: All equipment (electrical, mechanical, sensors, etc.) that powers facility Building Management Systems (BMS)

·       Monitoring & operational tools: Each datacentre has its own BMS receiving sensor data. In addition, the DATA4 Computerized Maintenance Management System supports forecasting and logging of all changes on each infrastructure element

·       Software-defined infrastructure management: Based on Nlyte Software's solution, customers benefit from two integrated solution options: D4 DCIM Infrastructure or D4 DCIM-aaS

·       Smart DC portal: Real-time information communicated to customers via secure web portal

 

DATA4 manages flexible, high-performance, carrier- and cloud-neutral data centres, offering solutions from one colocation rack all the way through to purpose-built, dedicated facilities. DATA4 Group currently operates 15 data centres in France, Italy and Luxembourg, with a total net technical area of 82,000m² of IT rooms, and more than 146MW of IT power.
