Omnitude becomes a Hyperledger member

Omnitude, the British blockchain middleware platform, has joined Hyperledger, the open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies hosted by The Linux Foundation. Omnitude will join a growing community of members, who are all working to progress the development of blockchain technologies.

Omnitude provides a commercial middleware blockchain layer that allows businesses to integrate blockchain technology into the fabric of their organisations easily and cost effectively. The technology allows businesses to build in additional layers of trust and security to their existing systems. Its clients include Williams Martini Racing in Formula One, Absolute Taste and the Government of Malta.

Omnitude will benefit from access to Hyperledger’s resources, tools and relationships to help it as it builds its middleware ecosystem. Hyperledger is building an open-source cross-industry standard for distributed ledgers and currently consists of more than 235 member organisations including leaders in healthcare, finance, banking, IoT, supply chain, manufacturing and technology.

Brian Behlendorf, Executive Director, Hyperledger said: “Hyperledger’s success is reflected by the strength and depth of its growing community. Omnitude already has an impressive roster of clients and partners, which will all benefit from the collaborative efforts of the Hyperledger community.

Hyperledger’s growth reflects a global awakening to the potential positive impact of blockchain for businesses. Our members are building new applications and frameworks that will drive value and opportunity. We're excited to now have Omnitude a part of the community.”

Chris Painter, CEO of Omnitude said: “Omnitude is a broad middleware layer that will drive mainstream adoption of blockchain in business. Rather than focusing on an end-to-end vertical integration of blockchain solutions, Omnitude is able to slot into existing ecosystems in businesses to enable them to benefit from additional layers of security and trust.

“By joining Hyperledger, we join a growing, vibrant community of blockchain advocates that will help us develop our technology and bring blockchain to businesses everywhere. We’re excited to be part of such a diverse and distinguished membership.”
