“Over the past 20 years, SSI has excelled at its purpose of addressing ecosystem challenges in traditional server system architecture and meeting evolving requirements of modern data center and cloud infrastructure,” said Tau Leng, SSI Board member. “The recent innovations on the IO architecture such as NVMe, persistent memory, and their related technologies offer promising solutions for the new generation server and storage infrastructures that our members can now focus on.”
“SNIA has similarly excelled at its work advancing storage and information technology for over 20 years,” said Michael Oros, SNIA Executive Director. “SSI members are being offered membership in SNIA, where significant industry form factor work is happening. Former SSI members can continue to contribute to the industry and advance new form factor specifications, particularly in the area of Solid State storage and other new emerging areas.”
The SSI specifications will be available for reference on the SNIA website at www.snia.org/ssiforum and former SSI Forum members can contact membership@snia.org for details on activating their SNIA membership to become involved in the new work.
