Whistl, a leading UK postal delivery company and largest postal operator in the country after Royal Mail, has selected Ensono to implement and manage the replatforming of its IT applications to Ensono Private Cloud. Whistl will migrate business critical workloads to Ensono’s private cloud platform, including its core logistics platform. Whistl provides efficient, high-quality and competitively priced services across Business Mail, Parcels, Fulfilment and Doordrop Media in the UK and internationally. The company processes over 25% of the UK's mail, amounting to 4 billion items per year. The transformation of its IT infrastructure provides Whistl with a hybrid IT model that will enable it to share workloads between private and public cloud environments as required to support its service offering.

In 2017 Whistl and Ensono began a review of the technology infrastructure and, under the leadership of new IT Director Jason Powell, identified a number of areas for cost optimisation and service enhancement. In addition, the new platform was selected to provide an agile, streamlined and cohesive infrastructure to support taking the business forward.

The move to the cloud will increase efficiency across the business and the speed to market of new Whistl services, ensuring a seamless customer experience and more agile delivery. Cloud computing will also prepare the company for future growth as it expands its services and position within ecommerce fulfilment.

Jason Powell, IT Director, Whistl, said: “Whistl strives to lead the industry through technology, innovation and efficiency and migrating our IT estate to Ensono Private Cloud ensures we continue to deliver an excellent service to our customers. Whistl will be migrating key business services, including our core logistics platform, to Ensono Private Cloud to deliver a highly secure and stable environment, designed from the ground up to run business critical applications. It is important for us that our chosen solution not only offers ROI, but also ensures our IT estate will be fully adaptable for future requirements.”

Powell added: “We have worked with Ensono for over three years and have a strong relationship with extremely positive results. Moving into 2018, we needed to ensure we had the flexibility, adaptability and reliability of a platform for the here and now, but also to provide and maintain business critical applications into the future. Whistl has ambitious growth plans, and we needed a partner who really understands the requirements of our business, where we want to be and how to get there and Ensono ticked all those boxes.”

Paul Morris, Managing Director - Europe, Ensono, said: “Technology is an enabler of successful businesses and Whistl is an exemplar of this. By ensuring the right technology, people and processes are in place today, while also building in agility, flexibility and scalability for tomorrow, Whistl’s new systems will accelerate the realisation of its ambitions. We are delighted to be working with Whistl and delivering on their business goals.”
