Teneo builds on global networking capabilities

Acquires Gigamon partner MCS.

Teneo, a specialist integrator of next-generation technologies, has acquired Management Communication Services, Inc. (MCS), a provider of systems management solutions.

This is Teneo’s third major US acquisition within the last 18 months, increasing the company’s size by 50% and nearly doubling its headcount in the US.

The purchase strengthens Teneo’s ability to give global enterprises visibility of performance issues and traffic bottlenecks affecting business applications that they are running on their networks. These capabilities, delivered by Teneo as managed services, help organizations whether they have on-premise or cloud IT, or operate a hybrid of both.

The deal will enable Teneo to realize the growing market opportunity in networking as its global enterprise customers try to do ‘more with less’ through their IT; analyst company IDC estimates that the global market for SD-WAN infrastructure and services alone will be worth more than $6 billion by 2020. Gartner estimated the size of the Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics (NPMD) tool market at $1.6 billion in its Market Share Analysis: Performance Monitoring, Worldwide report in 2015.

In addition, the purchase of MCS will enable Teneo to improve its technical support for global clients as well as providing full US geographical coverage.
Teneo and MCS customers will benefit from the highest levels of networking service and support capabilities through leveraging the two companies’ existing partnerships with key vendors Gigamon and Riverbed® including the following:
·         Teneo will gain access to MCS’ Gigamon’s intelligent network visibility solutions that monitor, manage and deliver end-to-end visibility across enterprise, data centers and service providers; Teneo itself had joined Gigamon’s Support Partner (GSP) program late last year.
·         An expanded support relationship with application performance company, Riverbed®; Teneo has been a Riverbed technology partner since 2004 and MCS with Riverbed® since 2010. Teneo recently launched a Managed SD-WAN service supported by Riverbed® SteelConnect™ to assist enterprise customers in accelerating their adoption of cloud-based services and applications through expert assessment, migration and management of hybrid networks.
·         MCS will continue to trade under its own name while becoming integrated with Teneo’s 24?7 Service Desk capabilities, which operate across global time zones in a follow-the-sun model, becoming the single point of contact for MCS’ customer support enquiries. MCS customers are also set to benefit from Teneo’s global Managed Service capabilities.

Piers Carey, CEO of Teneo comments: “Teneo has created a new market category of ‘Specialist Integrator’ and with the acquisition of MCS, we’re set to see a very powerful combination of award-winning, specialist technology capabilities with serious focus on customer success. This brings us an incredible opportunity to accelerate our Next-Generation Technologies-based service model and exceed our customer satisfaction and profitability targets.”

Teneo’s CTO Marc Sollars says: “This purchase will enable global companies to gain real-time visibility of performance issues for business-critical applications and security on their hybrid networks. There is added commercial appeal for Gigamon users in getting an unrivalled level of insight into networking issues and traffic jams associated with onboarding new cloud applications or optimizing application performance and security at their regional offices and local branches.”
