Equinix connects global sales force with Xactly

Equinix, a provider of carrier-neutral data centers and Internet exchanges enabling the interconnected enterprise, is using Xactly to gain global transparency across its incentive compensation initiatives. Equinix is also using Xactly to systematically automate, distribute, and track acknowledgment of sales plan documents, to streamline administration and create a clear audit trail.

With Xactly, Equinix has transformed its manual compensation process, into a cohesive, data-driven system that drives better performance and results.

Equinix brings companies together in 40 markets across five continents to uncover new opportunities and accelerate their business, IT, and cloud strategies. However, leaders in the company knew that a disparate approach to managing sales compensation on spreadsheets could no longer work, and would leave the company with no centralized insight or governance.

“Equinix believes that interconnectivity is critical for customer success,” said Brian Lillie, CIO, Equinix. “With Xactly, we are able to provide that same level of connectivity and ingenuity to our sales team. This has enabled us to shift our focus from simply trying to calculate and route comp statements and payments, to analyzing and looking at compensation more strategically as a growth driver for our business.”

Using Xactly, Equinix now has a single, automated platform - regionally administered - that provides complete, global transparency into every compensation transaction and payment. Using Xactly’s advanced analytics, Equinix is also able to look into the details of every account and order. As such, the company can more efficiently manage compensation budgets and determine if plans are encouraging the right sales behaviors.
