Colt’s services now available via SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ Edge Plus platform

SSE Enterprise Telecoms says that Colt’s award winning Ethernet networking services are now fully integrated and available via its Edge Plus platform. This extends SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ connectivity offering beyond its own network footprint and builds on SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ commitment to providing the most resilient and high capacity networking services to customers.

Edge Plus provides SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ customers with access to a wide range of high performance Ethernet services by interconnecting with other leading network providers. Using its proprietary price comparison engine – LIVEQUOTE – customers can quickly and easily analyse prices quoted by the UK’s major network suppliers, Colt, BT Wholesale, Virgin Media, Vodafone, TalkTalk and SSE Enterprise Telecoms, for any postcode. This enables them to cherry pick the most competitive network provider for each of their premises, irrespective of the number of sites or their locations.
The latest addition of Colt’s services to the Edge Plus platform affords SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ customers with even greater choice over their networking solutions. Colt offers a complete range of Ethernet services from point-to point and point-to-multipoint Ethernet connections at speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 100Gbps. Most importantly, the performance and resilience of Colt’s Ethernet Services means SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ customers can have complete confidence knowing their Colt service is provided on protected rings, dual-homed infrastructure and a robust core network.
“We’re pleased that we can now provide access to Colt’s network as part of our own connectivity service,” said Colin Sempill, Managing Director at SSE Enterprise Telecoms. “We’re committed to ensuring our customers get the most resilient and expansive network coverage. When this means going beyond our own network footprint, we understand the need for strategic integrations to go that extra mile.”
“SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ Edge Plus service is providing customers with a cost-effective way of accessing a highly resilient network, wherever they are located,” said Nigel Tromans, Ethernet Product Manager at Colt. “Colt is proud to offer the most extensive Ethernet coverage across Europe over our wholly owned and managed 38,000 km network enabling access to over 24,000 buildings. We think our network fits perfectly within the Edge Plus portfolio and we’re looking forward to working with SSE Enterprise Telecoms to help customers not only extend their reach, but also access highly resilient and award winning Ethernet services from Colt.”
