Exponential-e launches optical VPN platform across key data centre locations

Leading cloud and network provider caters to growing demand for simplified, flexible and automated optical VPN services.

Exponential-e has launched its optical Virtual Private Network (VPN) platform across nine of its key data centre locations. The platform will cater for increasing enterprise customer demand for secure cloud and colocation services. It will deliver Exponential-e’s high capacity optical VPN services to data centres operated by Ark Data Centres Ltd, Telehouse, Virtus and Equinix across the UK.

“We’re very excited to be supporting Exponential-e in its deployment of the new optical VPN platform across its UK data centre presences, including to our premium facility in Farnborough,” said Huw Owen, CEO at Ark Data Centres. “The innovative platform will give our customers access to a fully managed suite of IT solutions delivered by Exponential-e, providing them with a secure and flexible environment through which to support their growing businesses.”

Built to the highest carrier class standards, the optical VPN platform will be delivered over a next-generation multi-terabit optical transport network. This high capacity optical service – available at 10Gb, 40Gb and 100Gb speeds – will deliver space and power savings to customers, whilst ensuring the solution offers total flexibility, high resiliency and security.

“The launch of our Optical VPN platform is a massive engineering achievement and underpins our future growth strategy across key data centres in the south of England,” said Chris Christou, Director of Engineering at Exponential-e. “Customers in these data centres now have access to all the necessary components required to support high bandwidth demands, including high capacity network services and inter-data centre cloud services. It will ultimately give our customers the best possible service availability, support and performance for their business critical applications.”
