Producing the annual McLaren Autosport BRDC Award for Haymarket Publishing’s Autosport magazine meant MAKE TV needed to implement high performance workflows to streamline their media storage and global file distribution for a series of high-quality big screen event films. As a true pay-per-use solution, BASE Media Cloud provided an enterprise grade cloud service for MAKE TV, which would have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to implement themselves, for just a fraction of the cost, while also staying in line with the project’s budget structure.
BASE Media Cloud was able to leverage the Zadara Storage Cloud Architecture and Virtual Private Storage Array (VPSA) to provide a comprehensive solution to their valued customer MAKE TV. Key markets such as media and entertainment have requirements that align well with Zadara’s Enterprise Storage as a Service (STaaS) solution. The need for high-performance storage that can be shared globally, in a highly secure and reliable solution, can be easily resolved with the Zadara architecture. Additionally, the project-based nature of the media and entertainment market make the Zadara Storage as-a-service OpEx business model very attractive. Users only need to pay for the storage they use and when the project or event is concluded, they can release the capacity they no longer need and only pay for what is needed.
“Being able to have a single place for storing and sharing large files during post-production was a huge benefit”, said Theo Cowen, lead editor for MAKE TV. “We only have standard domestic broadband at our suites, but the speed of download was fantastic and far faster than other services we’ve used in the past.”
“Zadara Storage has been an outstanding business partner”, said Ben Foakes, managing director for BASE Media Cloud. “Their technology is second to none and their business model aligns perfectly with our needs.”
“MAKE TV’s requirements are a perfect fit for the BASE Media Cloud solution, built around Zadara Storage”, said Dani Naor, vice president, international sales, at Zadara Storage. “The flexibility of our OpEx, pay-as-you-go storage gives BASE Media Cloud the ability to support MAKE TV’s project-based business needs, while the enterprise-class features provide them the performance, security and high-availability needed to protect their critical assets.”
