Brand-Rex joins Leviton Manufacturing Company

Brand-Rex has been acquired by Leviton, a privately owned US manufacturing company specialising in electrical wiring devices, energy management, security and automation, and data network solutions for industry and commerce.

Brand-Rex CEO Martin Hanchard said “We are delighted to be joining the Leviton family with whom we share many core values. One of our long-term goals has been to become a strategic contributor to a large multinational industrial group. This transaction will allow us to enhance our product offering in our core European, Middle East and Asia Pacific markets; leverage shared R&D resources to meet the need for bandwidth expansion and growing data transmission speeds; and support our customers and strategic channel partners with a global service platform.”

Leviton president and chief operating officer Daryoush Larizadeh said, “Leviton’s acquisition of Brand-Rex will enable Leviton to offer truly global end-to-end solutions to our customers, while ensuring they receive the same high-quality products and services they’ve come to expect. The natural synergies between Leviton and Brand-Rex allow for a pure growth opportunity as we strengthen and expand our geographic and vertical industry presence.”

Brand-Rex will provide cabling to complement Leviton’s connectivity solutions in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, Latin America and Asia. Leviton, a US market leader in network solutions, will continue its existing US cable supplier partnerships to meet the unique needs and specifications of customers in the United States. Over time, Leviton will capitalise on this new expanded geographic presence and logistics infrastructure to offer an expansive range of products and solutions in these markets.

Brand-Rex and Leviton will maintain separate sales and distribution channels, as well as existing manufacturing operations. Brand-Rex will continue to operate under the Brand-Rex name and will remain under the leadership of Martin Hanchard and his management team. It will operate within the global Leviton Network Solutions Division, led by executive vice president and general manager Ross Goldman.

Don Hendler, chief executive officer of Leviton, added, “I could not be more thrilled about the opportunities this acquisition will provide, and we welcome Brand-Rex to the Leviton family of companies.”

In summary, Hanchard said “This is a transformational and exciting moment in the life of Brand-Rex and our employees that further strengthens our position as a Tier 1 industry leader in core markets and re-enforces the Brand-Rex product and service offering”.
