Tech Data goes West to strengthen Microsoft team

Tech Data has further strengthened its growing Microsoft cloud solutions team by appointing Emily West as a new Business Development Executive. Her appointment will enable Tech Data to manage the rising number of enquiries now being made about the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme by resellers.

For the past two years, West has been working within the Microsoft licensing team supporting resellers on Office 365 and other solutions. She will now work specifically on Microsoft CSP business, providing support to resellers who are on-boarding to the programme and pursuing new business opportunities.

Interest in CSP is growing quickly as more end user customers enquire about Office 365, Azure and other cloud options, says Mark Whittle, Microsoft Business Manager at Tech Data. “We’ve been seeing a steady rise in the number of reseller enquiries and adding Emily to the team will help us manage that increase. As more businesses start to look at cloud options in earnest, it’s important for resellers to be prepared and ready to field customer enquiries. We will continue to work closely with Microsoft on advancing CSP and bringing more partners on board.”

Tech Data Europe was one of the first distributors selected to participate in Microsoft’s CSP programme, which expands cloud sales opportunities for resellers by enabling them to sell combined services and directly provision, manage and support customers.

The Tech Data Cloud programme provides resellers with access to extensive education and enablement resources. Microsoft CSP and other cloud services are integrated into Tech Data’s StreamOne Cloud aggregation and billing platform, which gives partners the ability to monitor customer usage and collate accurate billing for customers’ services consumption.
