The angled ports enable Draka’s standard tool-free Cat 6a keystone jack to be used for swift, simple tool-free wire installation. This is in contrast to some other manufacturer’s patch panels which require special, angled keystone jacks.
Each of Draka’s full-unit (1U) 24-port patch panels is made up of two banks of 12 ports, one bank pointing left the other right. The panels are modular and can be used for both standard and pre-terminated installations either part or fully loaded.
The keystone jack ports are set at a 30 degree angle to the face plate to increase the available space between the front of the patch panel and cabinet doors. Angling the ports also helps direct the cable at the rear of the panel to the sides to reduce the bend-angle in the cables while simplifying installation by directing the patch leads to the equipment cabinet’s side-located cable containment system.
The snap-in Flat Angled Patch Panel is the latest addition to Draka’s Universal Cabling (UC Connect) system. The system has third party approval from accredited test laboratories for additional peace of mind. The system is backed by a 25 year system performance warranty when installed as a complete UC connect solution of jacks, patch panels, shielded patch cords and high density cabling.
“The introduction of the Flat Angled Patch Panel continues Prysmian Group’s commitment to expand its European-manufactured UC Connect product range,” says Adrian Austin, head of Draka’s UK and Ireland sales.
