Small is 'not beautiful' when it comes to the Cloud

Clutch’s 2015 survey indicates room for growth in small business cloud storage adoption, with Dropbox used most often and Apple rated highest for service.

Nearly half of small businesses in the US have yet to adopt cloud storage, according to new data from Clutch, a leading source of business ratings and reviews. The gap identified in the findings suggests a significant growth opportunity for cloud storage services in the small and medium business (SMB) market.
The majority of small businesses that do use cloud storage choose Dropbox, according to Clutch’s survey of 438 small businesses nationwide. Fifty-three percent of respondents indicated that their firms use this service. Google Drive, Apple iCloud, and Microsoft OneDrive followed Dropbox as the top four most popular cloud storage services.
Of these top services, Apple iCloud received the highest Net Promoter Score (NPS), a standard measure of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Dropbox, Google Drive, and Microsoft OneDrive followed Apple iCloud as the top four most satisfactory cloud storage services.
“Yes, cloud storage has been around for a while, but there are still many people who do not know the full scope of what can be done with it,” said David Amaya, consultant at Cardinal Solutions and Cloud thought leader, in an interview with Clutch. “Security and compliance concerns hold many back from adopting the Cloud. As small businesses become more aware of what is possible and how the Cloud addresses these concerns, the number using the Cloud will continue to increase."
