“Behind our category-defining products that customers adore is the most talented product team in the storage industry — they dare to think differently and challenge the storage quo. We are all thrilled to have someone with Tony’s experience to lead this group,” said Ken Klein, Chairman and CEO of Tintri. “Tony’s background is perfectly suited to Tintri’s trajectory — he’s delivered products that led organisations through periods of hyper growth and that supported multi-billion dollar sales goals. His deep expertise in storage, cloud and infrastructure technologies positions Tintri to help more customers scale through simplicity and choice.”
Chang joins Tintri after spending almost 8 years with NetApp in an engineering leadership role. Most recently, he led the ONTAP group managing over 1600 people worldwide. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Engineering at LogLogic (acquired by Tibco), which pioneered log management and intelligence-driven big data solutions, compliance reporting, and IT security operations. He also held the position of Senior Vice President of Product Development at Foundstone, which was acquired by McAfee.
“The storage industry is experiencing a great shake up, and I’m excited to join a company with a leading role in shaping the future landscape. Tintri is at the vanguard of VM-aware storage, building storage specifically for virtualised applications. Consider the track record of innovation Tintri has delivered in the past year alone—from VM-aware All-Flash Arrays to VM-level QoS and analytics—and you’ll understand why I’m so energised to work with this engineering team,” said Tony Chang. “Tintri is the company that is materially changing storage and simplifying life in the data centre.”
