Packet Design and Aria Networks have formed an OEM partnership whereby Packet Design will resell Aria Networks’ network planning and optimisation software. The resulting product combination gives service providers expanded network visibility and control, including the ability to optimise network resources for peak performance under varying conditions.

Packet Design will market and sell Aria Networks’ software with its own Explorer suite of network service assurance products. Aria Networks’ network planning and optimisation applications augment Packet Design’s operational monitoring, forensic analysis, and ‘what-if’ simulation capabilities. Given the synergy between the companies’ product sets, Packet Design and Aria Networks already share many service provider customers worldwide.

“Service providers must continually look for new revenue opportunities and deliver high quality, differentiated services. At the same time, their margins are under tremendous pressure,” comments Scott Sherwood, CEO of Packet Design. “The combination of our network service assurance products with Aria Networks’ sophisticated optimisation technology gives service providers a comprehensive set of capabilities to help them be more agile, maximise the return on their network assets, and drive down operational costs. Furthermore, as Packet Design prepares to launch the industry’s first independent SDN management and orchestration platform, the Aria Networks technology is a great fit.”

Steve Newton, CEO of Aria Networks comments: “Aria Networks and Packet Design are leaders in our respective fields and the combination of our technologies creates unique capabilities for customers to design, optimise and manage next-generation networks. Working with the Packet Design team, we will integrate our products for even greater synergy and a seamless user experience.”

Packet Design will bundle the Aria Networks products with its Explorer suite and provide first level support to its customers.
