Epsilon expands Its Cloud connectivity in Singapore

New fibre network in Singapore supports Epsilon’s IaaS offering for cloud and communication service providers in Asia-Pacific.

Epsilon, a privately owned global communications service provider, has rolled out new fibre infrastructure in Singapore to strengthen its local reach for its cloud and communication service provider customers across Asia-Pacific. Epsilon will use local fibre infrastructure to connect data centre sites and enterprise locations to its global network spanning Europe, Middle East, North America and the Asia-Pacific.

The roll out will support the growth of cloud services both locally in Singapore and across the Asia-Pacific region. Epsilon will use fibre infrastructure to connect five additional data centres in Singapore including Global Switch, Equinix, Keppel DigiHub, 1-Net and Digital Realty facilities.

“Singapore has emerged as a hub for cloud services in the Asia-Pacific region and we are using the most robust and reliable infrastructure available to serve growing demand for cloud. By rolling out new fibre infrastructure, we are extending our capabilities and offering cloud service providers a unique business model that matches their need for agility, reach and performance in their network,” said Jerzy Szlosarek, Chief Operating Officer at Epsilon.

The network deployment follows Epsilon's roll out of a 100G backbone network in Europe in 2014. Both its Singapore network and the development of its 100G infrastructure have been specifically designed to support cloud, content and high-performance communications services on a global scale. Epsilon’s network leverages the infrastructure of 500+ network operators as well as its own internally developed network technologies.

“The future is on demand network infrastructure that is ready to serve the needs of the cloud. This fibre roll out will enhance our connectivity to local data centres and enterprise locations while also supporting our solutions for customers connecting their cloud services. We see Asia-Pacific as a key driver for growth in cloud and Singapore as a major global hub for cloud services,” said Andreas Hipp, Chief Executive Officer at Epsilon.
