SSE Enterprise Telecoms enables Converged to scale up connectivity to UK-wide service

As IT & telephony company increases bandwidth requirements 200-fold over eight years, SSE Enterprise Telecoms helps it to meet this demand.

Aberdeen-based ICT company, Converged Communication Solutions, has increased its national connectivity footprint thanks to the geographic reach of SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ services. Working with SSE Enterprise Telecoms, Converged is now delivering 200 times more bandwidth to its customers than it did when the companies first joined forces eight years ago.

SSE Enterprise Telecoms has been consistent in its ability to meet the network demands of Converged’s clients. This has enabled Converged to renew the contract with its own biggest customer, international engineering consultancy Xodus Group, to increase network capacity by ten times on its core routes during the next three years. In addition, Converged regularly utilises SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ online price comparison engine, LIVEQUOTE, which compares and analyses the Ethernet quotes from all major UK carriers as well as SSE Enterprise Telecoms. This allows Converged to identify and provision the most cost effective network for clients, even in areas where SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ network footprint doesn’t reach. Converged also relies on SSE Enterprise Telecoms for its own backbone links from London to Aberdeen.

“Without SSE Enterprise Telecoms we wouldn’t be able to provide such resilient connectivity at such a cost efficient price for our clients in Aberdeen and across the UK,” said Neil Christie, technical director at Converged Communication Solutions. “As we both share Scottish roots, we’re pleased to have grown alongside SSE Enterprise Telecoms and been able to facilitate the growth of our customers, such as Xodus Group.”

Neil continued: “What’s more, despite our lengthy relationship with SSE Enterprise Telecoms, we have only ever had to deal with one team. This has meant that they are in tune with our needs and the demands of our customers. We fully trust their advice and have complete confidence in their networking expertise. The team hasn’t yet been in a position where they can’t deliver the connectivity services we need and we’re confident that this will remain the case in the future.”

“We understand how important it is for Converged to ensure quality of service, cost effectiveness and peace of mind to customers, particularly those in the oil and gas industry,” said Colin Sempill, managing director of SSE Enterprise Telecoms. “We’re pleased to have been able to deliver reliable connectivity that can stretch even beyond our own footprint, thanks to LIVEQUOTE, and it’s brilliant to have such a trusted relationship so that as Converged and its customers grow, they will continue to turn to us for their network requirements. With the Government’s Broadband Connection Voucher Scheme upping demand even more, we look forward to supporting Converged as it extends its customer base even further.”
