Bennetts rev it up with Adapt’s ‘Habitat’ cloud infrastructure

Acquisition by Saga prompts 10 week delivery of new cloud solution.

Bennetts, one of the market-leading insurers of over 200,000 bikers in the UK, has selected Adapt to manage its IT infrastructure following the completion of its acquisition by Saga. Bennetts needed to move away from the shared platform of previous owner, BGL, and chose Adapt’s application Habitat to host infrastructure services and key applications including its business-critical aggregating service, call centre application BBIS, quoting engine and pricing applications.

Bennetts needed a flexible, predictable cloud cost model to suit the seasonal nature of its business and an innovative technology partner with strong service management capabilities. It was also vital for the infrastructure transition to deliver ‘business as usual’ for Bennetts, whose website handles over 7 million visitors per year.

The Habitat brings together Adapt’s own enterprise grade platforms, public hyperscaler environments like Amazon Web Services, customer ‘on premise’ and other 3rd party environments. It enables application workloads to be moved seamlessly between performance and availability tiers based on rules set by customers, building in logic around security and risk profile, impact, performance and user dependencies, budget and running costs and future application profile.

“A project such as this requires a very strong combination of service, solution and technical capability in order to ensure a smooth transition for Bennetts internally whilst providing business as usual for our customers,” commented Jeff Weston, IT Director at Bennetts. “We are also working to some demanding timescales for the transition - we’re enjoying working with the team and are confident we’ll hit the milestones together.”

“The Habitat is the cornerstone of our cloud offering and it is great to see another example of its applicability and relevance to modern high growth businesses,” explained Scotty Morgan, Chief Sales Officer at Adapt. “The great advantage for Bennetts is that it keeps their managed application environments permanently efficient and optimised against business priorities. We can help drive leaner, more aligned infrastructure services for Bennetts that make managing seasonality more straightforward, for example. Adapt’s role is effectively to make it easy for Bennetts to scale technically – we’re looking forward to supporting the business throughout their exciting growth journey in the Insurance sector.”
