Commvault takes fundraising up a gear

Employees at data and information management software company Commvault are racing to raise funds for children’s charity Action Medical Research – by taking part in its London to Paris bike ride in July.

Workers from as far afield as Dubai, Germany and the USA are joining their colleagues from the firm’s UK office in Forbury Road, Reading, to tackle the 261-mile challenge.

In total, 27 staff from Commvault, which has its headquarters in New Jersey, will be taking part in the tour from 22-26 July in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for Action Medical Research.

“Collectively, as a team, we are aiming to raise about £75,000,” says Mark Jow, Vice President of Technical Services – EMEA. “Under Commvault’s charitable policy, employees will be able to use one of their two days’ paid leave entitlement set aside for charity work to participate in the event.”

Action Medical Research funds medical research to beat the diseases that devastate the lives of so many of our children. It currently has more than £11m invested in the work of more than 230 top researchers, working on over 75 projects across the UK.

The idea for the cycling trip began a few years ago when a group of colleagues decided to undertake Action Medical Research’s London to Paris ride, and support for an international effort grew.

Susie Andrew, EMEA HR Director, says the London to Paris ride is a suitably large-scale challenge which fits with the company’s vision.

“Commvault is a fast-growing organisation that’s working with a number of global companies, so we wanted to think big and have a big impact. I have been absolutely overwhelmed by the interest that it has generated,” she says.
