NTT Communications acquires 86.7% stake in e-shelter

NTT Communications Corporation and ABRY Partners, a private equity investment firm, have  jointly announced that NTT Com acquired a 86.7% stake in e-shelter yesterday. The acquisition elevates the NTT Com’s data center space in Europe to 92,000 square meters in nine cities, up from 19,500 square meters in four cities.

As the designer, builder and operator of high-availability data centers, e-shelter offers infrastructure based on the highest standards of physical security and operational reliability. The company, led by CEO Rupprecht Rittweger, was established in 2000. It operates over 70,000 sqm of server room space, including 40,000 sqm at its main site in Frankfurt, Europe’s largest data center facility. The company has additional sites in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich, as well as in Vienna, Austria and Zurich, Switzerland. Clients of e-shelter include providers of financial, telecom, IT and cloud services, and governmental institutions.


Going forward, NTT Com will continue to expand its data centers to offer strengthened global seamless ICT solutions that meet the business needs of corporate customers on the European continent, where the demand for data centers continues to grow.
