Red Hat updates integration offerings

Latest integration and messaging offerings bolster connectivity, usability, and IoT capabilities for enhanced developer productivity.

Red Hat has announced the release of Red Hat JBoss Fuse 6.2 and Red Hat JBoss A-MQ 6.2, introducing new capabilities to help developers simplify their enterprise application and messaging initiatives. The latest versions of these offerings are designed to enhance developer productivity along three critical planes: connectivity, usability, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The ability to quickly and easily connect applications, data, and services spread throughout complex hybrid IT environments has helped many organizations differentiate themselves in the market and gain an edge over their competitors.

JBoss Fuse is a lightweight, flexible, integration platform that is based on Apache Camel, an implementation of many of the most commonly used enterprise integration patterns (EIP). JBoss A-MQ is a lightweight, high performance messaging platform based on Apache ActiveMQ. Its light weight and support of standards such as MQTT and AMQP make it possible for organizations to more reliably connect systems and devices across the Internet and enable the integrated Internet-of-Things.

Connectivity

The allure of greater agility, ease of procurement, and lower cost are contributing to an explosion of new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) assets such as business and social applications, and the hybrid cloud – where workloads span both private and public clouds – is now a reality for many organizations. JBoss Fuse 6.2 and JBoss A-MQ 6.2 deliver the advanced connectivity capabilities needed in these complex environments, offering more than 150 out-of-the box connectors and the ability to connect SaaS applications like Salesforce, Box, DropBox, and Google Drive with on-premise applications. The latest version also provides foundational capabilities for creating RESTful APIs as well as connecting to supplier, partner, or customer APIs. The expanded connectivity and API foundation enables customers to easily create connected solutions for modern business.

Usability

To enable greater developer collaboration and faster time-to-market, JBoss Fuse 6.2 and JBoss A-MQ 6.2 feature enhanced tooling and usability capabilities. With intuitive tooling developers can quickly create Enterprise Integration Pattern (EIP)-based services, connect applications and APIs, and transform data using the included transformers and a graphical mapper available as a technical preview. Now enterprises can better focus on becoming more competitive through innovation and experimentation.

Internet of Things

According to an April 2015 Red Hat survey, 70 percent of survey respondents plan to incorporate IoT projects into their business over the next five years, presenting significant opportunities to create more innovative solutions. For forward-thinking businesses anticipating the coming wave of integration needs, lightweight, standards-based technologies offer the ability to more reliably connect systems and devices across the Internet. JBoss Fuse and JBoss A-MQ deliver the lightweight integration and messaging capabilities required for evolving IoT solutions, including support for protocols such as MQTT, STOMP, and AMQP 1.0, and support for RESTful APIs. These capabilities are complemented by other Red Hat capabilities to help customers more rapidly and securely transform, process, and act on IoT data when and where needed.

Companies like AMD, American Product Distributors, Avianca, Color Line, and Telegraph Media Group have deployed JBoss Fuse to simplify their integration initiatives and become more competitive and innovative.

The latest releases of JBoss Fuse and JBoss A-MQ strengthen and serve as the foundation for Red Hat's private integration Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS), part of Red Hat's OpenShift-based JBoss xPaaS Services offering.
