A new backup service desk for Asigra providers is launching at the Asigra Global Partner Summit in Toronto this week. BackupChecks is sponsoring and exhibiting at the event, as well as offering demonstrations of the software.

Peter Groucutt, managing director at Databarracks, the backup and disaster recovery provider that has been developing the software for the last 7 years, comments:
“We’re very excited to be launching BackupChecks at the Summit. It’s something we’ve been using internally for a long time and it has added so much value to us as a business and to our customers that we thought other providers could benefit from it too.

“The features of the software are three-fold. A service desk, a reseller management portal and a customer management portal. The most obvious benefits are seen in the Service Desk, which allows technicians to manage all of their backup accounts through a single portal. The dashboard shows engineers all of the errors to be checked across all accounts at a glance, any recurring issues, the amount of data stored by each account and information to help services providers manage their DS-Systems.

“This means that you can be more proactive as a company. BackupChecks automates the simple daily management of backups. Backup engineers have more time then to provide more valuable support to their customers. They have the tools to have helpful data reviews with customers and give advice on best practice from other customers and their internal knowledge base.”

BackupChecks makes technical teams up to 300% more productive. But perhaps the most exciting feature is the customer portal that is available to the provider’s backup customers, continues Groucutt: “Through the portal, customers have access to all their vital backup stats, such as how many backups have been successful, how many restores have been made and how much data they are storing. Customers can log in to a simple portal on their mobile on the way into the office to check on their overall backup health and then log in on their desktops for a more comprehensive view to really drill down into the details and their historical backup and recovery trends.

“There is also a reseller portal available for your channel partners. They have access to exactly the same data as you the service provider – but access is limited to just their own accounts,” Groucutt concludes.
